Do you like robotics competitions? Do you like helping your friends? Well, now is your chance to combine all the things you like into one fun-filled camp! In the Build A Robot, Help a Friend Online Robotics Challenge Bootcamp, campers will learn about robotics and coding while designing their own solution for this season’s theme: “How can robots improve a child’s life?”
Campers will think about how a robot can change their life and explore options beyond their own needs and wants by considering how a robot can improve the lives of children in their community, country, or worldwide. Campers will learn about the challenge rules and build and program three robots as a class:
- RaceBot – campers will build a robot that uses motors and LEDs and program it to self-drive and light up its LEDs.
- ControlBot – campers will build a robot with contact sensors and motors and design and program a wired controller to learn the relationship between inputs and outputs.
- SensingBot – campers will build and program a robot that can use infrared sensors to sense its environment and avoid obstacles in its path.
After campers complete bootcamp, they will be ready to design and build their own solution to the online robotics challenge and can enter to win!
This session’s Social Emotional Learning Topic is Empathy.
A RoboRobo Kit Core Set is required for this class, and is available for purchase in the Build-A-Robot store for $99 (plus tax/shipping): https://buildarobotk12.com/index.php/product/robo-kit-level-1/
